Dr. Giana Padilla Sixto, DPT, is a licensed physical therapist with clinical experience in pediatric and infant care, including a clinical rotation in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) at South Miami Hospital and experience in a private pediatric physical therapy setting.
She also has extensive experience in Orthopedic settings with rotations at Baptist Main Hospital, and most recently, Pinecrest Physical Therapy. Her experience in orthopedics includes shoulder injuries, back pain, knee, and hip. She is passionate about getting her patients back to the best version of themselves and caters the plan of care to the patient.
Her pediatric background includes working with infants and children with conditions and developmental concerns such as torticollis, prematurity, delayed or atypical motor development, and challenges related to early movement and developmental milestones. She has experience supporting the progression of foundational skills including rolling, sitting, crawling, standing, walking, jumping, balance, coordination, and age-appropriate movement development.
Her approach focuses on evaluating each child’s individual movement patterns, strengths, and areas of difficulty while considering their developmental stage and family goals. Treatment is individualized, evidence-based, and designed to help children develop the strength, mobility, coordination, and confidence needed to participate more fully in everyday activities.
She also places a strong emphasis on parent and caregiver education, providing practical strategies that families can incorporate into daily routines to support continued development outside of therapy.
